1. Core Safety Rules
Always
- Keep all early conversation inside the App
- Verify identity through a video call before meeting
- Involve at least one family member or friend in major decisions
- Trust your instincts — if it feels wrong, it usually is
Never
- Send money, gifts, or financial documents
- Share OTPs, passwords, or banking details
- Meet alone in private at first meeting
- Give in to pressure or urgency
2. Building a Safer Profile
- Use a recent, clear photo where your face is visible — no group photos as the main image.
- Keep your personal phone number, home address, and exact workplace off the profile.
- Be honest about age, marital status, family situation, and income range.
- Mention what you're genuinely looking for. A clear profile filters out wrong matches early.
- Complete verification (where available) — it adds the verified badge and reduces fake-match risk.
3. Conversations: Pace & Boundaries
- Take time before sharing your phone number or any external account (WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.).
- Watch how someone reacts when you say "let's slow down" — pressure is a red flag.
- No sexual or inappropriate messages, ever. Polite respect goes both ways.
- If a conversation makes you uncomfortable, you can block at any time. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
4. Money & Dowry — Never Negotiable
- Never send money to anyone you've met on the App, regardless of the story (medical emergency, travel, "small favour", visa fees).
- Never share UPI IDs, debit / credit card numbers, or banking OTPs.
- Be cautious of profiles that claim wealth or status to pressure your family.
- If someone asks for money in any form, screenshot the conversation, block them, and use Report.
5. Warning Signs (Red Flags)
Be careful if someone…
- Rushes to move the conversation off BANJARA APP within hours of matching
- Refuses to do a video call but pushes for marriage talks
- Has very few photos, no family photos, or photos that look like stock images
- Avoids basic personal questions or gives inconsistent answers
- Tells dramatic stories that always end with needing your help
- Mentions money, gold, property, or "gifts" early in conversation
- Is "currently abroad and unable to meet" but will return after some help
- Tries to isolate you from your family or friends
- Becomes angry or guilt-trips you when you ask normal questions
- Pushes to meet in private or in unusual locations
6. Verifying Someone's Profile
Before you take the relationship offline, work through this checklist:
Verification Checklist
- Have we done at least one video call where I could see their face clearly?
- Do their stated profession, city, and family match across multiple conversations?
- Have I (or my family) spoken with at least one of their family members?
- Have they shared their full name spelled the same way as on government ID — and I've seen it?
- Have I searched their name plus city to see if their public profile matches what they've told me?
- Has anyone asked for money, gold, or "gifts"? If yes — stop here.
7. Meeting in Person — Safely
- First meeting in a public place. A coffee shop, restaurant, or community gathering — never their home, your home, or a private vehicle.
- Bring a family member or friend. Or have one waiting nearby. In our community, family-accompanied first meetings are normal — embrace them.
- Share your live location. Send your real-time location to someone you trust for the full duration of the meeting.
- Set a check-in time. Tell someone "If you don't hear from me by 8 PM, call me."
- Use your own transport. Don't get into a car with someone you've just met.
- Trust your instincts. If anything feels wrong during the meeting — leave immediately. You can be polite, but leave.
8. Family Involvement
In our tradition, families are part of every match. BANJARA APP supports this:
- Share profiles you're seriously considering with a parent, sibling, or trusted elder.
- Schedule a family-to-family call before any in-person meeting.
- Discuss expectations openly — career, location, religion, lifestyle.
- Pay attention to how the other family treats yours. Respect on the first call is a strong signal.
9. Photos, Screenshots & Private Data
- Don't share photos that you wouldn't want a stranger to see.
- Don't send any image of an ID document (Aadhaar, passport, PAN).
- Don't forward someone else's chat or photos to others without their consent.
- If your photos are being misused, save evidence and report immediately to us and to local cyber-crime authorities.
10. Anyone Under 18
Matrimony services are restricted to users 18 years and above. If you suspect a profile belongs to someone under 18:
- Do not engage. Stop the conversation.
- Use the Report button on their profile and select "Underage user".
- We remove and report such profiles. Severe cases are escalated to authorities.
11. Reporting & Blocking
Every profile, every conversation, and every reel has a Report option. Use it whenever you see:
- Suspicious or fake profiles
- Money requests
- Sexual or aggressive messages
- Dowry demands
- Threats or harassment
- Underage profiles
- Any behaviour that violates our Community Guidelines
Blocking instantly stops contact, removes you from their visibility, and prevents new messages. We don't notify the other person that you blocked them.
